Porter speaks first

“We have not seen this extent of cuts in generations,” says Aaron Porter, NUS President.

He cites plans to abolish state funding for arts, humanities and social sciences and the maintenaince grant being abolished.

He doesn’t see how the tuition fees are “justified” when at the last fee increase there was no rise in student satisfaction.

“When they say it is dangerous to build a nation on debt, what they are doing is passing that debt on to young people.”
