ULU will host a Carnival of Resistance today as part of the National Demonstration against fees and cuts.
The National Campaign against Fees and Cuts (NCAFC) and the Education Activist Network (EAN) have organised a national walkout for further and higher education students, ancouraging people to walk out of their place of study in protest.
It has been rumoured that ULU had ordered 1,000 masks for the Carnival of Resistance and that they were designed to protect the protester’s identity from the police in case of violence. It is still unclear at this moment whether it is true or not. We will keep you updated.
The demonstration will start at 11am tomorrow in front of ULU on Malet Street.
It has been estimated that over 10,000 students will attend protest.
Ken Livingston, the former Mayor of London, issued a statement supporting all students taking action against the Coalition Government and said: “I wholly support students in their campaign against these plans and congratulate them for ratcheting up the resistance against the coalition cuts”.
